I have gone down (up?) the river in reverse. I have found two treasure chests - one at each end. I have found a crank for a bridge. But, it says I need something. I have searched high and low and can't find any kind of handle. Although I did find one dragon shard. Can anyone help?

Yes Yes Yes, found much you have, but more is there to find. You obviously have followed the path to fight the scorpion thing and got the first shard. Then you followed the path back down to the river. But there is a turning you have missed, yes yes yes. In the area where the path drops down sharply, there is an option to stay up on the level you are on and to jump the hole for the path down. Now you can access more, and perhaps find that bridge thingy you need.
