Defeating Oria

Hi! I'm new to the forum and new to playing the D&D computer games. I have been playing this game and using various walk-thrus to help me out. But I am having problems defeating Oria on Ch. 2. I have tried pulling the levers after she turns to Oria's Essence but have found that even after the Ice Golum says "Inner Sanctum selected" she remains invulnerable. I am wondering if I need to complete all ten ranks in battle squares in order to defeat her. Or is there something else that I could be doing wrong? Please offer any advice as I am enjoying the game and would like to continue on. Thanks.

You only need to do the battle squares enough to get the key to Oria's room; the rest is optional and has no effect here.

It's been quite some time now and all the details are a little vague in my mind. I do know that when the levers are pulled correctly, the party becomes ethereal as she is, and you should be able to attack her in the usual manner. If that isn't happening, then some other step may be missing. Does your team become ethereal? If not, you may need to pull another of the control levers after getting the "inner sanctum selected" message.

Thanks for the quick reply. My team never becomes ethereal. I have tried several different lever combinations and then waiting but all I get are Oria's arrogant comments on how she in invulnerable. I have the key. I'll try again though and hope for better results...

I think, if I recall correctly, you have to activate the Inner Sanctum mode, wait until Oria enters, then de-activate Inner Sanctum mode until you get something called... damn, what was it? 'control' mode, or reset mode, or something. Is that right?

No, one thing I do recall is that you have to stay ethereal until you kill her. Oria's etherealness is not caused by the battlesquare machine, and it has no effect on her at all. What we have to figure out here is why Isis' party isn't going ethereal when the levers are pulled. That's the problem. I hope this isn't some sort of random bug that has cropped up.

When the golem says 'Inner Sanctum Mode Selected' you then need to push the activate mode lever (the bottom one of the three) - until you've pushed that one, the inner sanctum mode is not activated, it's just selected. You should then go ethereal. Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious and you've tried that!

If you've done that and it still hasn't worked then I'm not sure what to suggest, other than the usual tips about making sure your game is patched.

Before you can enter the Inner Sanctum mode, you must activate the Maintanence mode.

I just thought that I would let everyone know - I completed the chapter. I am not sure what the problem was but I did two things differently. The character I had used to complete the battle squares had done level one & two. I pushed the game level lever back to level one. And I used the same character to activate "Inner Sanctum Mode" & then I pushed the game lever. Once I did that my characters became ethereal and Oria was easily defeated. I don't know which action was the key but it worked. Thanks again for your help.
