Well, I just recently got IWD II and to be honest am not really good at creating characters yet. That's why I got really frustrated when I saw that my sorcerer cannot cast spells - they are greyed and it says " ... beyond sorcerer casting ability" If you need my sorc stats I'll post them, but I really really really need help

Sorcerers and bards use charisma to cast spells. Your charisma is too low.
It need to be 10+ the level of the spell you want to cast.

Gwanyn, If you go to the character stat screen and click information, you can get details about abilities and classes. Some things are really different. Charisma, for instance, not only affects a sorcerer's spell abilities but it also affects a cleric's turn undead.

Thank you, will take that into account Another problem I have... I wanted to multiclass my lvl 2 barbarian into a monk and I KNOW it can be done (because the vice-versa option cannot, unless you multiclass a monk into a rogue, cleric or sorcerer)... and found out that I can't. Can you guys tell me what are the "requirements" to do so?
Thanks [ 01-01-2004, 02:45 PM: Message edited by: Gwanyn ] |

Although sorcerers have advantages over the normal mage take my advice, in IWD2 you do gain a lot of experience nad you can't beat a wise, experienced, powerful mage at your rear. (pardon the expression)

In my opinion, the fight between a mage and a sorcerer is a complete draw. Over the time I was pondering about it, I realised that the traits of the two are perfectly balanced. A sorcerer is an AA gun with unlimited ammo, while the mage is a commando with a sniper, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, stealth pistol...

I think the fact that its too difficult to find decent scrolls in the game make sorcerers a little better.
