My party can't seem to do any damage to Isair and Madae before all of us getting wiped out. I have used every spell I could, including all the protective spells I have. I tried this about four or five times last night and I'm just not getting anywhere. I can kill everyone else in the room, but not Isair and Madae. I get Isair to "barely injured" and Madae just stays not injured at all.

What is the problem? I have tainted the radiant pool and talked to Toral. However, when I talk to Orrick, I never get an option to say that I have already tainted the pool. He just says something like, that's a good idea to try, or whatever. When I tainted the pool, there was definitely a whooshing sound so I know that worked.

Any advice, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Offensive spells aren't much use here; the twins are pretty well protected. Basically, you have to buff/protect your own team to the max, then send your best warriors against the twin of your choice. I usually went for Madae, since she doesn't have a flameshield going.

In case you didn't know, after the big fight on top of the tower, you can rest up safely to renew spells, and cast your buffs just before heading down to the finale.

I'll go back in there and give it another try and see what happens. It's a pretty tough fight though.

Thanks arion, I do have plenty of saves and I have rested up before heading down. Appreciate it.

Try casting a couple of lower resistance spells at ONE of the twins. That should give your spells a chance to get through. Although it's possible to take one of the twins down far enough to trigger the ending scene without any spells.

It sounds as though the "pool taint" quest never got fulfilled in your game for some reason. Double check your journal and make sure that it is being shown as completed.

**TACTICS SPOILERS**

Concentrate your attacks on just one twin, because it is when you get one of them down to 1 third or 1 quarter (I can't remember which)health, that triggers the end of the game.
Hope it helps

Thanks everyone. I am going back in now and hopefully I can get it to work. I guess if worse comes to worse, I will have to reload a save back to where I tainted the pool and then have to do some stuff over. I will definitely check the journal first thing.

This is what it says in my journal:

"By purifying the radiant pool that Isair and Madae have been using for their own twisted purpose, we should gain an edge in battle against them. Already, the Severed Hand seems to be changing for the better."

I talked to Orrick after I did the pool and there is no option that says I purified the pool. Does this mean that I need to go back and do the radiant pool after I talk to Orrick?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Major tactics spoilers:

1. Rest up on top of the tower after taking out the halfdragon delegates.

2. Completely buff up your party. Use your best buffing spells and any saved up potions.

3. The twins are every bit as magically buffed up as your party. Don't expect to defeat them quickly.

OK... At this point there are a few ways to do it. However, let's say that the one major is to survive long enough for the twin's defenses to expire.

But first.... At the start of the battle, ignore the twins. Take out the spellcaster immediately BEHIND the twins with ranged weapons.

Also, have your primary mage and your primary medic run AWAY from the twins to the bottom of the screen/room. Why, you ask? One of the twins will nearly immediately cast a Blasphemy spell on your party that will temporarily stun your party. If these two characters run away from the rest of your party they will be outside of the Blasphemy's area of effect. They will be able to continue the fighting for the round or 2 that your stunned.

Have your 2 casting characters summon up some allies! Have those allies focus on the twin's allies. Also summon some monsters to keep the twins occupied. It's better that the twins bash up a few undead monsters than your party.

Your primary mission at first needs to be to take out all of the twins' allies, not the twins themselves. When your other party members come out of their Blasphemy stun, have them focus on the twins' allies.

BTW, there's a nasty summoning mage in the room to your party's right. Send a character over to take him out ASAP. That summoning mage will keep summoning monsters and they'll overwhelm you if you don't take him out.

After you've taken out the twin's allies, send in your summoned monsters to attack the twins.

Oh, and BTW there is a slightly cheesy way to deal with the twins... At some point in your travels, you probably picked up a Protection from Magic scroll or 3. Cast the PfM scroll(s) on one or both of the twins. This will TOTALLY wipe out all of the magical defenses that they have. It's best to use this tactic after you'd taken out the twins' monster allies, since you don't want those allies attacking the PfM casting character and losing the spell.

I'll stop for now. There's more that I could say, but these tips will get your thru the first part of the battle.
