iron golems

I am trying to go back from the underdark to the monastary in order to return to the battle squares. My way is being blocked by 4 iron golems. How do i defeat them. I bought +3 weapons from the underworld merchants but it doesn't do a thing. Their poison cloud is murder.

Well, they won't bother you if you don't try to loot the coffin. That's what they're guarding; they have no interest in anything else.

you need a +3 or +4 blunt weapon like a war hammer +3 and try to get more than one +3 blunt weapon. That is the only weapon that will defeat the Iron golem with anything else you are just waisting your time

I had already looted the coffin on the way to the underdark and way able to get past them but this time I couldn't. I had blunt wepaons and that seemed to do less damage than bladed. I eventually had to change the difficulty to easy. The golems are right next to the exit to the underdark so i was able to kill one ,leave, rest up and then repeat.

I wound up fighting them before I went any further into the under dark. Lightning will slow them down some... don`t use fire spells though. It will heal them.
Blunt weapons and alot of luck... all I can say.

My question though is.... why are you going BACK to the monastary?
Battle squares is WAY back at the Ice Palace... figured you would have already finished that part....

Im sorry, havent tried this yet but if you have magic users, U should be able to cast lower resistance and then some magical offensive spells.

In IWD1, all kinds of golems were immune to magic, I'm pretty sure that you won't be able to do anything to them with magic.
But yeah, bludgeoning weapons only

I am going back to the battle square because when i was there I was unable to complete all 10 levels and get all the goodies. I know it is purely optional but I would like to see if I could do it. I was only able to do the first 2 levels. I read that if you want to go back and finish it you must do it before you finish off chapter 4 which I am just about ready to do. When i was was first there I tried level 6 to get that super mace but couldn't kill anything. NOw I am stronger and better equipped. Well I just beat level 6 and got the mace. Now to go back to level 3 and try to get up to level 10.

Best of luck to ya. Watch out for level 10.... Something showed up that chased me into the far side of the icepalace,and locked me in a room.....lol
I think it was a game glitch.... but it was an ugly one....

yeah golems are really hard. I'll try it with +3 hammers and slings too.
which spells may be useful? lightning bolt?
