Ok, I am inside Balduran's ship and have fought my way up to Karoug's
level. It is VERY frustrating, so i was wondering if anyone would be
kind enough to give any tips, strategies, or other suggestions. My party
is:
Me = Halfling Thief 8th LVL
Ajantis = 7th lvl
Yeslick = 6th fighter/6th cleric
Kivan = 6th lvl
Coran = 6th lvl
Dying-na-here = 7th level invoker

What do you need to kill the wolfweres (+1 weapons I assume).Greater Wolfweres (my +1,+2 weapons don't seem to work)? Werewolves? Are they all magic
resistant? What are the differences between these creatures?
I do have the silver dagger and Wolfsbane neclace found in the levels below. They seem to do nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Irritating fact about Karoug: You know that silver dagger you found? Well, its the only weapon that can harm him. My advice is to equip it on your strongest fighter and go after Karoug directly. Have support spells cast prior to going up stairs. You should know the standards: bless, charm, Defensive Harmony, Haste, and any strength or THAC0 boosting potions. If you have DUHM use that as well.

Thanks for the help Firestorm. That sucks that the only thing that can
harm Karoug is a stupid dagger (1d4+1 damage I think).

A few more things:

I also have the cloak of Algoron and this has yet to work on these
wolfweres. Are they able to resist ALL magic?

Also, what is DUHM?

Thanks again.

Finky, DUHM is more commonly referred to as Draw Upon Holy Might. Don't let the acronym fool you (DUHM) its actually an awsome spell to use.

Again thanks for the help guys. Still, the results remain the same after
trying everything - I always lose at least 2 or 3 party members.
The game has turned from fun to absolutely frustrating where I wanna
punch a hole in the wall and throw my monitor out the window (ever get to
that point? hee hee). To top it off, I hear it gets even better once at
Durlags Tower.

well killing them b4 they turn into wolfweres does mess up the story but i did it normally by sendin khalid up with the invisble ring on, goin to the bottom of the room so the guy walked down there, then goin to the top gettin baldurans sword which is good against him, then go down save it heal khalid, put bless etc. on my guys go up, kill the woman b4 she turns and b4 she casts horror monster summon down the bottom where the guy is and the other wolfweres, this point he got stuck, i sent a guy to talk to him then stepped back let the monsters distract them while i cast spells, when all them were killed, he died easy when he got to my ppl and the other normal ones were easy

One thing that a lot of people overlook is that you don't have to take your whole party up & down stairs at the same time. So, instead of dragging all 6 up to Karoug's level at once (with a good chance of putting Dynaheir in a great position to be turned into dog meat), you could send your Thief up first to scout and maybe disarm a couple of Traps, then send in the Tanks. Once the head of the stairs is relatively clear, bring up the casters.

It IS possible to steal the sword right out from under Karoug's nose, if you know your Thievery.
