Icewind Dale 2 cheats....

I was recently visiting a friend and he was playing through Icewind Dale 2. During his game-play I noticed that his
characters were, well let's say extremely powerful and we're talking, they had just arrived in Targos and
already had +2 & +3 weapons/armor. He told me about the cheats, since I have already played through the game and beaten it ,
I thought why not....use the cheats and the creature creation codes and see what I could come up with. I thought
the cheats worked the same as those on previous titles..BG, BG2, TOTSC, TOB, IWD, HOW....yet when I enter them
into the cheat menu "chat bar" all I get is "nice try cheater".

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

here...try this post where a guy posted the IWD2 cheats a few days ago. I have not personally tried them yet to see if they work, ...so let me know if they do not. Thanks.
