I have just installed Icewind Dale and HoW along with Trials of the Lure Master and I've been having problems getting the cheat codes to work. I installed version 1.06 of the patch but every time I try to enter a code I get a message saying "Nice Try Cheater!" I have noticed that this happens even if I don't instal the patch (after I have installed HoW) but I have tried installing it before HoW and still no go. If I instal it after HoW then the game will not load for me.
Does anyone know why this might be happening and how I could go about getting it to work properly? Any help would be really appreciated! Bokken |

First, don't patch the game with version 1.06 if you already installed HoW! HoW has this built in already. You will, however, need to patch HoW. My suggestion for the occasional need for cheats is the Dalekeeper program which totally free and very safe found at www.mud-master.com

the cheat codes have changed from IWD to HOW. check out the cheat sheets here

Thanks to both of you for the helpful info. I got it all working and checked out Dalekeeper. Looks like a pretty neat program, although I think I might only use it in real need or the second time around.

Glad to help, Bokken. And if you can truly use Dalekeeper only in real need my hat is off to you and your self-control because Dalekeeper is such a nifty program the temptation to cheat can be enormous!

I did have that problem the once, because I forgot to enter one simple thing.
You have to enter CHEATERSDOPROSPER:cheatcode here. Hope this helps. |
