A tank is like a beefed up fighter with really good armour, high hitpoints and good weapons and all the rest of it. A comkmon tactic is to send 1 or 2 tanks to block the enemy from getting to your weaker party members while the said weaker party members turn the enemy into nice little pincushions.

It is also a military vehicle surrounded in armour plating and they have big arse guns sticking out of them
