I've heard that Sarevok is magic resistant. Does anyone know if he or his goons have any weaknesses like fire or poison.

Sarevok is quate easy to beat, if you know how to do it. One trick is to charm the Rieltar (?) or who is just before him. With his help, Sarevok is very easy to beat. If you have your party about 6 lvl, killing Sarevok will be no problem even without this trick. Just make sure you use this spells: Haste and Protection from evil.

Have your mage learn loads of magic missiles and keep casting them on him. About half will get through, also have loads of archers

I have 1 archer and that is my thief but my main fighter(I created him in the beggining) has 104 for energy -10 ac and I havn't even gotten into TOTSC yet. I have Minsc and Dynaheir so I will load her up wityh magic missles and my bard Eldoth; I will shoot Eldoth's poisoned arrows when he runs out of magic missles.(Eldoth creates his own poison arrows) With Skie I will buy some good arrows and pound Sarevok with them. I'm not sure what to do with Branwen-probably just heal and dispel.

To kill Sarevok I have used: before a haste spell on my party, than a monster summoning spell against him (so he was buzy to defeat monsters); than, arrows of piercing / biting and magic missiles. Believe me, he had no chanches to survive.

Spolier my method is below
I split my magic casters into two groups and advance each group on eother side of the skull Keeping the other party members back against the south wall. I then cast Dispell twoards the dias just in front of the first step follwed by a silence this shoudl drop their shields and hopefully keep them down fora bit. I then start casting Fireballs at the edge of the FOG. Once sarvok comes towards a group I run it back to the south wall group having everyone else fire range into him and Moster summoning right on top of him. I found Piercing arrows a dispell magic are great to use on him.

Backstab works surprisingly well against him, I just finished it solo for the first time today with a thief and all the way through the game i saved up my potions of invisibility by the end of the game i had about 7 of them saved up. So I just kept backstabbing drinking a potion backstabbing drinking a potion until he died. His other goons Angelo, Tazok and the mage were not much of a problem they just stood there and watched me hack him to pieces.

To kill Sarevok you need to divide and conquer, for once you get him by himself, he is easy enough to beat. Cast haste on one character of your party, and let Sarevok chase him around the room, while the rest of your party throw as much ammunition (arrows, darts, bullets, bolts, magic missiles) as they have. Eventually he'll go down.
Getting rid of his party members can be tedious. Lure out the wizard first, and kill him out of Sarevok's sight. Next, while still remaining out of sight, cast summon animal/monster in Sarevok's general area, and back off. You will find that the Flaiming Fist leader will began to fire explosive arrows at the summoned monsters, killing them but damaging himself, Sarevok and Tazok in the process. Keep your ears peeled- try and get the Flaming Fist leader to die here, a victim of his own arrows. Now Taz will have cast invisibility on himself. To lure him out, get your strongest thief (or character with the ability to hide in the shadows) go into stealth mode, creep up close (but not in Sarevok's view), and reveal yourself. Hopefully, you will attract the invisible Tazok, who will appear when he tries to stab you. After that, bombard him with projectiles. Then you will have Sarevok by himself. Phew! |

What I found annoying is that the ToSC changes to the final battle didn't make any more bad guys for you to fight, didn't make the existing bad guys any tougher, and CERTAINLY didn't make them any smarter. All it did is that now, when any of the 4 bad guys can see any member of your party, Web and Stinking Cloud are cast at the spot where your party member is standing. Yeah--like Tazok can cast 3rd-level Wizard spells, sure.
So my own tactic involves giving them some of their own medicine: First I take a Stealthed Thief near the dais to initiate Sarevok's dialogue and make Semaj teleport out into the main room, where my other 5 members are all too happy to shoot him to pieces. (What an idiot.) Next, a simple Dispel Magic (aimed at the stairs, out of sight of the enemies) will remove the invisibility from Angelo and Tazok. After that, a Greater Malison (if you have more than one, by all means use them, too--what are you saving them for?) will leave all 3 remaining bad guys vulnerable to all the Webs and Stinking Clouds you fire at them--and Magic Resistance be hanged. You are now the proud owner of 3 almost completely helpless boss enemies. Go to town.
