I've just started playing IWD, so forgive me if I'm way behind the rest of you. Anyway, I've noticed that there are significant improvements in regards to graphics in IWD (over Baldur's Gate), especially in regards to sharpness of color and picture and in the speed of animation (esp. character movement and combat). However, I've also noticed that the animation is occasionally "choppy"--that is, the frames used to animate the characters are used sparingly, which I am assuming is the cost of speeding up movement. Now, what I'm wondering is if this is part of the game, or does it have to do with my particular game and how it is working with my PC (note--I do have all the necessary certified drivers, Direct X7, Pentium III, 32 bit graphics card, etc.--so I don't necessarily think it's my computer, especially since the animation in Baldur's Gate was significantly smoother). Any ideas? Oh, and while I'm on the subject of visuals, during the change of areas, are there supposed to be quick flashes of artwork--say, the picture of a city, portrait of a monster, etc.; they seem a bit fast--perhaps too fast to appreciate--so I'm wondering if this is a glitch.

Your choopiness may be fixed be closing background progams like virus-checkers or turning off things like weather. If you have under 64Mb of RAM you should probably buy more. I don't think the fast load-times are a problem. It is not a glich your computer can just find the files and run them faster than other people. Also Black Isle has changed the way areas to load do you don't sit around as long as you did staring at the red bar in BG and BGTOSC. Because I only have a PII I am glad the load times are shorter.

I have 128 mb of Ram, so that shouldn't be it, though I will try toggling off the weather--thanks, almighty Tuna, and happy hunting.
