Many of us, I am sure, have had characters whose stats would make even certain ToB NPCs sigh in vain for, whose level progression and proficiencies were planned out millions of EXP in advance, and would dual wield the +5 Givers of Most Plusses.

Which can be fun (and certainly WAS fun for me on my second full runthrough.)

But sometimes a character concept (and the self imposed difficulties) can be just as fun.

For me, It would have to have been Ogg The Barbaryn. Yes that was his name. Yes, that's how it was spelled. His stats were

19 str
16 dex
19 con
1 int ( )
14 wis
18 cha

He dual wielded war hammers. Why? Because he could. It was pretty much all he could do. He looked rather impressive, whacking away with a two 40-odd pound hunks of metal. Sure, the BASE damage wasn't much, but that didn't stop Ogg. He would also go through pretty much a temple's worth of Genius potions every time there was the least hint of an illithid nearby. Ogg had to be led around by the more astute members of the party. Like Minsc.

I also once made a female elven Kensai using the "Default 2" soundset. I would have made her Chaotic Neutral if I could. The whole point was to make a Kensai using a race least suited to unarmored fighting (a Con penalty, no dual classing possible.) She was a fun character, but she was an early character, and I couldn't figure out how to keep her from taking 50 or so points of damage per goblin. (She was an early character.)

And one final one...

When I first installed ToB, I wanted to take a look at the expansion, even though I was only in Chapter 2 of SoA. So I spend a good half hour making a Mage/Thief, hemming and hawing over placing points in thief skills I didn't fully understand how to use, selecting spells I had never used, etc.

I got killed in the first fight. Without saving .

Anyone else? Let's hear about some of your FUNNEST characters, no matter their power level.

1 INT? How? The lowest you can go is 2, unless you modded it using an external program.

That aside, the most fun party I had was probably my Robin Hood and his Merry Men party. No helmets, just leather armour, and lots and lots of arrows.

Cheers.

Hmm. I could have sworn it was 1. I remember trying to kill him one day by equipping a certain bonus merchant weapon. Note: It didn't work.

Yep. I don't have a saved game of Ogg anymore, but I just booted up my game and made a Half Orc Barbarian; and I was able to lower his Int to 1.

The only mods I have are patches, Unfinished Business, Banter, and Grandmastery.

My game does do wierd things sometimes though... maybe I have a bug?

Ah, Half-Orcs. I forgot about them. My mistake. Half-Orcs have a -2 modifier to their INT score, making them able to have 1 INT.

I had a beastmaster once, chosen because i decided that was the weakest class in BG2. it was fun untill ToB when he became seriously underpowered

-1 modifier. but the second part of your sentence is correct.

My most fun character? Can't say... maybe my kensai -> mage dual soloist. First time solo and it was fun trying to do things alone, which you normally do with a full party.

-1 modifier. but the second part of your sentence is correct. ~~[/QUOTE]-2 actually. Remember, the game engine simulates a roll of 3d6, and the lowest possible value for 3d6 is 3.

If the penalty was only -1, you would only be able to get a minimum value of 2.

Cheers.

I'd have to say my first solo: With an Elven Diviner, playing through the whole saga. After dying tens of thousands of times to the wolf by the area of the batte, I figured, "Ah hell. Unless I see an ogre drop a spell scroll, that 86 gold pieces on his body is *not* worth it."

Baldurs Gate 2 came, and had me changing my spell list MAJORLY. Spells that I had previously thought useless were becoming lifesavers, and previously fun spells were completely useless.

And then came ToB... Area effect spells, art thou the mage's lover?

hmmm... I really thought a half-orc gets -1 INT and -1 CHA. That's what the manual says anyway.

I stand corrected then, Dundee.

EDIT: did ou check those ingame or only from the table.
Is it correct (according to the table it is) that the max charisma for dwarves is 16, and the max wisdom for halflings is 17? It also says gnomes can't become pure class fighters...

Dwarves get a minus to Charisma? I thought it was dexterity, by 1 point? I'm almost sure it is.
