Abazigal water Tunnels

Got a quick question for those who have made it past Draconis. Yes, I finally did it and I am not proud of it (had to turn the game play down to the bottom). Now I am in the tunnels looking for the scroll of reversal and one other item. You see I have the two other pantaloons and I know if I unstone the amateurs adventurers they will return with a beholder eyestalk and the last pantaloon. However, being a good player I want to take my turn at the beholders i know are down below.

Question, if I go down the water tunnel and fight the beholders can I also find the pantaloons. or does this only happen if I use the amateurs. And yes I know that if I use the amateurs they come back, try to kill me, I slayer-out, I loose reputation, They die quick, they reboot, we play it over and I then get the items. In short I am trying to keep my rep level up.

If you go spelunking for beholders, you only get the stalk, I believe. I think you can only get the Pantalettes by sending Bondari and crew for the eyestalk.
