I played BG2 a long time ago and now im a bit excited starting over again. This time i got ToB too and wonder, when i shall start the game, shall i click the "SoA" icon or the "ToB" in the main menu at the begining?

Also, i see alot of people talk about "re-rolling" their stats at the creation of their character, why not just use the "+ and -" signs to the right and make the stats you want? Does it have some kind of bad side?

Thx for all awnsers!

Rerolling is to get a higher number of those points. For example if you roll a 10 six times your character won't have any high stats. If you reroll you can get 3x12 and 3x13 which is a higher total so more points.

If you click the SoA button you'll have to go through SoA before you can start ToB (except for Watcher's Keep). If you start ToB you don't have to play SoA and just start with ToB. So it's up to you.

If you havent played through SoA in a while I would suggest playing through that again before going through ToB. It wets your appetite and gets you in the mood. Plus its bloody good!

No, it doesn't

And, as phillip said, rerolling gives you a different total, while + and - can only move your points between different stats. Many people use a combination of these: they reroll until they get sick of it, and then adjust this based on their character. On the other extreme, some people ignore the fact that you can do either, and take the first set of stats they are given (to avoid powergaming their stats).
