If you want some help with tactics it is usually good if you post up the following

1) Your Class and who is in your party
2) You and your party levels

Once the guys here know that they should be able to assit you to lay the smackdown on this demi-lich.

Cheers!

Spell Immunity: Abjuration so your mage can soak up his imprisons. The Slayer is also immune to imprison I believe if your alignment and roleplaying preferences allow this.

He's immune to arcane spell levels 1 - 8 (or is it 9?) so don't even bother.

If you have a cleric, Sunray will do wonders.

If not, you'll need +5 weapons or better to hit him (Sling of Everard comes to mind. Edit: Staff of Rhynn also. Some of the Paladin unique weapons will be very useful as well) - simply monster him with hasted fighters if you have the kit.

You can also cheese it with a scroll of Prot from Magic (although won't save you from the imprisons I don't think) or scrolls of Prot from Undead.

Ah sorry. Me (sorceror, level 18) Jaheira (level 16?) minsc (level 16, i think), aerie (level 15 cleric, 13 mage), valygar (level 15 or 16) and imoen (level 18).
I don't have spell immunity or freedom, and i can't really get any scrolls, so i can't neccesarily get freedom any time soon :/ : ( . I don't know if I have any +5 weapons on me, either o_O .

Are you doing Watchers keep in SOA or TOB ?

If you are doing it in SOA then maybe come back later with some more gear and hit him again ?

Shamrock, Demi-Liches are immune to ALL spells from Levels 1 through 9, so Sunray definitely will NOT work wonders.

Demi-Liches are also immune to weapon enchantments from Normal through +3, so any +4 weapons or better will hit them.

This particular Demi-Lich is also immune to Turn Undead and "slay Undead" weapons, so he is probably immune to PfU scrolls as well.

Do NOT bring anyone into the Demi-Lich's room who cannot be protected from Imprisonment, because he does not focus on any one person: He randomly spits them around the room.

In your party, you have 4 people who could take him out one-on-one if you really thought about how to do it: Your Sorcerer, Minsc*, Aerie, and Imoen.

Think about it real hard, go get some more/different gear if you think you need it, and give it your best shot. Then Reload and give it your second best shot.

[ADD:] *Minsc cannot truly be made immune to Imprisonment. Rather, he can do something that makes this particular Demi-Lich's AI choose not to target him. [/ADD]

Ack, apologies for the bad advice and thanks for the corrections Six. As I never use clerics in my party I was going off this clown who said:

Quote:
I moved close enough to blast him with my priestess (which is my protagonist), using a sunray. Much to my surprise, I blasted the Lich for 1046 (!) damage! I was quite surprised, I might say ...
It was posted in a Kangaxx thread so I mis-understood his post...

On a more helpful note, I believe Wizard Eye's also cannot be imprisoned so they could serve as a useful distraction.

Only prior to installing BaldurDash. As a general note, NEVER use Summons in any situation where they could get Imprisoned, because they still count against your limit of 5 summoned creatures, even long after they should have expired. You would have to cast Freedom, at which point they would immediately Unsummon, and then you'd be able to summon 5 critters again.

First off, thanks a lot for helping, it was actually really easy, because I learned an important fact- I never knew you could send only 1 or 2 people in there. Minsc took him down super easy with that little hint you gave me (I had already thought of it, but I didn't know that I could just send minsc in). Thanks a lot!

heh, install tactics and he becomes incredibly difficult (he'll dispell your protections I do believe. Avoid death HLA protects from imprisonment. Demiliches are immune to +3 weapons and lower and level 9 spells and lower (quest spells should work, level 10 spells work).

Try looking through Xyx's spell guide to see what sort of spells one can use to become immune to annoying states. For example, the equalizer protects against more than just charm, but also domination, and other types of charms.
