Eegads, those things are nasty. Anyone have any clue on how to take those evil tanks down?

Slow them down with holding spells and summoned creatures while you bump then full of ranged attacks.

The best way is too buffer yourself..haste, bless, chant etc.

Wand of the heavens

Draw them out one at a time using someone with boots of speed. Ass they're approaching nail him with arrows of ice and fire. As soon as he reaches the party, send in a couple of fighters to finish him off. You may take some damage, but IMO you wont use much, if any "limited magic"

I've read all of these replys, and everybody seems to think the same thing. To kill them for 4,000 XP either cast haste, chant, etc.. on yourself, Use powerful arrows (like Ice Arrow and Poison) and use the powerful wands. If they get up close to you drink an oil of speed and hack away at them. Anyways are you talking about the Battle Horrors that Davaeron sends at you in the Cloakwood Mines?

Cast dispel magic on them and their flaming sword will disappear.

you don't have to fight those Battlehorrors - they appear if you don't disarm the forth (and final) trap in the narrow corridor just before you encounter Davenorn
