Disappointing Pocket Plane challenges

I find these challenges to be a bit weak for any character who has made it through SOA.

The first one you go up against mighty kobolds and work your way up to...drumroll, low-level drow and such. And now I get to talk to Cyric Lord of puny shadow thieves. He tells me to prepare to fight his minions so I start frantically buffing and summoning and then three measely thieves that aren't even as tough as rune assassins pop in. Whoa. IMHO these could and should have been a lot tougher obsticals for the COB. (that's child 'o' bhaal)

I agree--the 5th challenge is the only one of any real difficulty, although the 2nd one is fun. (NONE of them should cause you any trouble, though, since you have plenty of time to sleep beforehand, and pre-buffing your party is well within roleplaying rights.)

Along that same vein:
I was expecting to gain more Special Abilities or something after each "trial". They were all pretty anti-climactic. I miss gaining spells at random times like BGI. Doesn't daddy like me anymore?

Ryan, you can gain new abilities after each trial if you install Ascension, which restores ToB to its' intended gameplay before the powers to be decided that it was too difficult.

I just beat it for the first time, so now I think I'll add on some mods and try it with just the love interest and my character. (Gawd I love this game!)
