whats the deal with draconis

I waltze up this guy thinking, whats the worse that could happen here? hell just be another dead mage. so i time stop rip his protections away and start hacking off limbs. just when hes about to die. BOOM he turns into a dragon. not that i minded all my guys were at basically full health, but the weird part was that he got all his spells back. there no way hes got like 3 spell triggers handy. so whats the deal with this did my game mess up or was that how it was supposed to be? even with him regaining all his spells he still wasnt a match for my team, i even had to use my kensai mage as a mage. i mean he is 21st level as a mage, but thats not fun. after i time stop improved alacrity and removed all spell protections he could even think of having i just hacked him apart. i mean he wasnt hard, my weakest character only lost 1/2 his life, but i was just suprised that he got all his spells back. i just sort of used all my spells thinking that he had wasted all his as well, but when he got them back that was quite a suprise. well on to abagazil or whatever his weakling name is
