Having fun in Watcher's Keep

Did anyone else think the battle with
the chromatic demon was a fun battle?
I had to reload twice till I figured out
what to do, and I only ended with Minsc
dying. Minsc always dies, that's why I
always keep one resurrection memorized.

Well... one cheese tactic( and I emphasise cheeeesssseeee) is to place seven Spike Traps at the spawning spot, release him, listen to his speech on how you are going to be his first victim and then see die after he goes hostile.

Another 'less' cheesy tactic is to position super summons and your tanks all buffed up and ready to hack and slash around the spawning spot, then when he spawns, all of them beat on him senseless.

However, it is fun to fight 'fair and square' with him. While not a total pushover, he is also not really that tough. All in all, a decent good clean fight. One way to avoid deaths is to do a team rotation, when one member is taking too much crap and you cannot heal him/her in time, retreat him/her and make the demon( or anything else) target somebody else. This way, you greatly reduce the chance of having deaths in your party.

I just had Imoen and Nalia cast a
bunch of spells (Melf's acid arrow,
Flame arrow, Lightning bolt etc.)
while Anomen, Keldorn and Minsc beat
the hell out of the demon. Minsc seems
to be the human punching bag for all
the monsters. Maybe he just looks
too impressive.

I just got Minsc and Sarevok to hammer away at it while my mages pummeled it with spells, then it died, just like everything else my party faces.

I didn't have any problem with the demon.
Well...I got thre after beating Yaga Shura, so I guess I was powerful enough

!

Anyone else tried luring the demon into the slime lab and then leaving him there
until he is asphyxiated? It works and no one in your party gets killed (usually), if you have the patience to keep from opening one of the lab doors
to check on progress. The only bad part is that (after getting this to work
twice)I didn't receive the rumoured 50,000 experience points after the demon's death.

I play IWD but i have a PC gamer magazine and id jus tlike to say that u should ge it it has a section on beating the TEMPLE PLACE THINGY in the throne of bhaal with a map and all
