Saemon or Crypt Door? I don't want to be spoiled too much.

I guess what I want to know is, if I go with Saemon(so he can betray me again) will I be able to go back and do the crypt area?

I chose the Saemon way, just because it seemed more dramatic than creeping through some old secret cave.
And yes, after you go through either way, you can still do the Lich subplot and all its components...though you might as well do it now instead of later. You don't actually have to fight the Lich, if that is the problem...

No problem, that lich is history already

I just know that if you tell Saemon no, he walks off. I want the best of both worlds. I just want to make sure after going with Saemon, whatever is behind the locked crypt door will still be there for me to destroy.

I remember from SoA, if you choose not to go back with Saemon from Spellhold, you miss out on the Saunguin(sharkpeople or whatever) City, and so would miss out on some great treasure. Don't want to do that here.

Oh...well, if I remember my cheat book says that the tunnel takes you straight to the throne room. I don't remember reading that you fight your way there...but you do fight your way there with the Saemon option...
I hope that is what you are asking...

so kill Saemon and take the key! what do you think we would say? (i mean, dont you already want to kill him?)

------------------
It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Melding with the Planet, I will cease to exist as I am now. Only to be reborn as a 'God' to rule over every living soul.

What are you saying? Are you trying to tell me you have feelings now? Ha, ha, ha... Stop acting as if you're sad. And there's no need to act as if you're angry either. Because, Cloud, you are... a puppet.

I want him dead of course

But I don't want direct access to the throne room

I want to work my way through, killing as many "baddies" as INHUMANLY possible.

Basically, I want to be able to kill my way through both areas without missing anything. You know, have my cake and kill it, too, kinda thing

BTW (I hope you're not offended), but do you know your signature takes twice as much space as most people's posts?

Just Asking...

I'm at that exact point in the game. Last night I was fooling around and found Saemon. After talking to him and refusing his help I walked out to the monastery gates where I was promptly beset by some monks. After wiping the floor with them I found a key to the gate on one of the dead monks which allowed me to enter the monastery grounds.

There was only one entrance to the monastery proper and that led directly to Balthazar. So I suppose it doesn't matter which route you take, you don't miss out on anything. Both ways lead directly to Balthazar. Kind of disappointing actually. Getting to Sendai and Abizigal you had to go thru' a lot of rooms. But here it's just fight off the mercenaires and monks and presto! you're up against Balthazar next.

On an interesting side note, I collected and sold all the weapons and armour after I was done killing all the mercenaries and monks, and made more than 100,000 gold! Nothing much to spend it on, unfortunately.
