I've just finished BGI and finally started BGII.
I installed Throne of Bhaal at the same time as BGII. To start to play I have to have the TOB disc in the PC. Then I'm asked if I want to play SOA or TOB. I choose SOA and immediately have to swap discs for disc 2 of BGII. Am I going to have to do this every time I want to play? |

Well, I think you can fake a "full" install... in the baldur.ini file change the "install type" parameter into "3". Then copy what CDs you can fit on your hard drive and change the file paths accordingly {there are a few lines in the .ini file that point the game where to find the files it needs} If you can't fit it all, at least you won't have to change CDs quite so often.

uh, or you could just put SoA disk 2 into you computer and use the start menu to start up the game, or create a shortcut icon on your desktop to run it from

I had the same problem when I installed ToB.
Soon after, I found out about the ToB patch, downloaded it and haven't had a problem since. It's not actually listed as one of the fixes, but it's worth having anyway. |
