I am currently running a party of 6 pre-made partymembers.
Human Berserker - Dualwielding longsword and/or scimitar. Dwarf Kensai - Throwing hammers and wielding quarterstaff. Half-elf Fighter/Mage - Throwing daggers and wielding shortswords with a shield. Elf Ranger/Cleric - Using +5 sling that requires no bullets and wielding flail with shield. Human Totemic druid(12)/Fighter - Using Sling of Seeking and wielding a club with a shield. Human Swashbuckler(10)/Mage - Using shortbow and wielding a quarterstaff. The kensai, fighter/mage, ranger/cleric and swashbuckler/mage have one thing in common. They all use the script for ranged attacks, but the problem is that whenever an enemy gets too close, they switch to their hands, and pursue the enemy. Since their defense isn't the best, I want them to stand put. If an enemy gets close to them, they should switch to melee weapon, and once the enemy dies, they should switch back to ranged weapon again unless no more monsters are too close. As it is now, there is alot of running away from the monsters to get into a decent distance which makes them lose time and make them more vulnerable, and if the monsters catch up to them. It is also quite tedious to switch to ranged weapon once they start using their hands for some reason. I wish I knew how to make a script myself too. But the best thing would be if there's already a script for ranged attackers that works.

Some people *like* to manage their characters.
Anyway,,,there are, literally, dozens of BG sites out there in cyberland. Try a search for.... -- BG custom scripts -- ,or something along those lines. HTH.

Meh, I gave up on scripts after a couple of tries, they either don't work or the situation changes so fast as to make them worthless.

Perhaps for more details on autoscripting, you could try sending a PM to Dundee Slaytern for advice.
From memory of reading his most recent game and story reports (well worth reading incidentally) he made use of them quite well. I'm one of the masochistic types who enjoys all of the 'tedious' clicking personally and prefer to do everything myself. [ 08-24-2006, 12:08 PM: Message edited by: CerebroDragon ]
