I was wondering...shouldn't Bhalspawns be Tieflings or Aasimar's rather than just regular humans. For example Sarevok even has a specific Aasimar feature - glowing eyes.

Bhaal is(was) a God, not just some lower-tiered Angel/Deva/Planetar.

but that would still only make "humans", either half or demi-human. Which means that the only races that are really acceptable are half-elves and Half-orcs, but not really because they are still considered to be half human as well.

As a god, Bhaal would have been able to make his avatar assume the form of whatever race he wanted to breed with--all the more so because he manifested himself on the Prime with that specific intent. So if he wanted to make a Beholder Bhaalspawn, he could have turned into an Elder Orb and gotten himself some sweet, sweet Hive Mother lovin'.

Let me quote you the description of Tieflings from Wikipedia: Tieflings - A tiefling (TEE-fling) is a creature in the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. Tieflings are planetouched — descended from evil creatures of the outer planes — demons, devils, evil deities and other evil creatures. The good counterparts of tieflings are called Aasimar. This means that those also who are descedent's of some deity will be or should be Aasimar's or Tiefling's.

Well... it was never really explained in detail on how Bhaal distributed his essence. For all we know, it might just have been pretty sparkles that scattered Bhaaldust onto newborns, infusing them with his essence.
Do we really want to know how kinky Bhaal was when you consider that he got it on with not only Humans, but Half-Orcs, Dragons, Goblins, fuzzy animals, Tootis(sp?), Elves, etc... And those are just the ones that we know of... Also, I would hestitate to quote from Wikipedia, as that is not always accurate. As a God, normal means of reproduction and conception do not readily apply to them. As a God, rules can be broken. |
