I am playing BG2-ToB on a Mac. I've got the official patch, baldurdash fixpack, and a few pieces of ease of use installed. Note the the first time this happened, I only had SoA+official patch installed. I stared the game in multiplayer to make a custom party, then copied the save into my single player folder.
The symptoms: At random times (though usually after having played for awhile), my party starts having trouble moving. They fail to move any long distances, but can be moved by giving them short range targets. Sometimes they will have no trouble moving 10 steps, other times its a challenge to move them even a single step--this seems to be related to patterns on the floor...they can move fine along a rug, but stepping off it has to be micromanaged. It doesn't seem to be related to the "stuttering" bug, since they either stand still, or move to their target (if it's close enough). Also, it's not just my characters that are affected, enemies also suffer. This means that they pretty much don't move at all, since they tend to pick targets that are more than a step or two away. Mages and archers still attack if they are in range, but melee enemies don't close with my party. Fortunately, I have found a fix for this...all I have to do is save my game, quit to desktop, and restart. I can even reload the saved game where the problem was occuring, and everything is fine again. If anyone else has run into this and found a better fix, please let me know.

Sounds more like an AI script problem. Turn off the AI and see if it solves the problem for your party.

I've had the AI turned off the entire time...just can't trust it to handle that many sorcerers at once.

Oocha... no other thoughts come to mind. Just hope it is not a Mac-only problem.
