Okay, I spent 2 HOURS (!!!!!) trying to figure out how to beat the wardens, and now when I've finally done it, I can't find the stupid rock that I need to open the lower level of the dungeon! Where is it?! I've searched everywhere, the whole room, all dead bodies and I can't find it. I even rested so that the dead bodies of other ghouls and stuff dissapeared, so that it would be easier to find it...
Is the problem that I didn't go to Ulgoth's Beard yet, or do I need more rocks, or what? Where is it??? I'm really frustrated because of this. Please help...

Oh, one more thing, I found a letter on some monsters I killed. It says something about chairs having arms and legs and not being able to hug people or something... Is that anything important, or should I just sell it?

Thanks for help.

If I remember right, the ward stone is back in the city of Ulgoth's Beard. Somebody sells it to you, I think. I cannot remember exactly, but I am pretty sure. Go back and check the merchants and see who is selling it.

You can indeed buy wardstones in Ulgoth's, but they're not the ones you need. Search for that dropped wardstone again, Specla, and make sure you run your mouse over EVERY DANG PIXEL of the floor. If you've done that and STILL can't find the stone, then you have a bug and need to hack the dang thing into your inventory--the Level 1 Exit Wardstone, I believe.

Those little letters are the weirdest thing....I don't think they're important (not part of any quest or riddle), it seems that all they're good for is to sell for 100gp each.

WELCOME TO THE BOARD, BY THE WAY!

Does the CTRL+TAB feature work to highlight items and hidden things, or is that another game? I used it alot in Icewind Dale, just to make sure I always got everything lying around.

Ermmm... I checked everything... 5 times! I''m really going crazy...
Can you at least tell me which one of the warders has the stone and what else does he have on? Like armour...
Thanks.

Ooh, how do I do the cheat thingy so that I may see if I dropped or forgot something?

first of all: The letter does not have any function in the game for sure, just sell it.

Second: You mentioned that you slept so all the bodies would dissapear, When you do this the wardstone will also dissapear (if it's on the ground) -> Scavengers eat everything!

And finally: Cheating is done this way (at your own risk) You have to edit the file baldur.ini from your BG directory using a text editor like wordpad. Under the [game options] heading add Cheats=1 Now during play press ctrl+tab and a window will pop up, enter the next code: CLUAConsole:CreateItem("MISC2B") and the wardstone will appear in your inventory.

I am not totally sure though if it is the right code, if not there are many fansites of BG who have the complete list of cheat codes

Good luck

Hi guys. I'm in Durlags tower and I CANNOT kill Love and his cohorts! I've done everything I can think of and I still get killed everytime. Any suggestions?

Larry-OHF, i think the control-tab is particular to the IWD series only.

Iluvater - NOT TRUE! Quest specific items do NOT get devoured. Everything else does though.

Paiwakat - Try using summoned monsters and buff up your party with as many protection spells as you can muster. The Wardens aren't the brightest opponents and some of them will hang back a bit. Use area effect spells on those that do (fireball web entangle etc.) If possible keep a cleric behind your front line fighters with all the healing spells you can muster and keep your fighters as max hit points. Try concentrating on one of the wardens at a time while shielding your party from the others with the summoned monsters.

Thanks Micha I'll try that. I haven't tried summoning monsters yet. Also, what kills a battle horror? I managed to get past them but couldn't kill them.
