I started playing BG2 a few years ago at my brothers house when I was there for vacation, but I was far from finishing before I had to leave. Time slipped by quickly and I never purchased my own copy of the game --until now. Okay, so I am a wee bit late... The pack that I purchased contains the original game, the Throne of Bhaal, and the exclusive bonus CD (not bad for $20). I have 2 questions:
1. After loading the original game do you recommend that I go ahead and install ToB as well as the bonus CD? 2. I still have my original character in a folder from my old BG1/TotSC. How do I go about transferring this character into BG2? i.e., What are the steps I take. Thanks! |

1. Yes, install all three at the beginning. I couldn't do without some of the things added by ToB (especially the highlighting of items with the TAB key). Then if you have a decent connection, download the official ToB patch and the Baldurdash fixpack to round it all off. Links are in the sticky at the top of the page.
2. Fire up BG1 and export your character. Copy it to your BG2 characters directory and import. Should be as simple as that. Welcome to the fold ![]() [ 10-11-2004, 06:50 PM: Message edited by: shamrock_uk ] |

Also a good thing on ToB is the moving when the map is on instead of the game pausing
And I thought if you went on Import when making a character on SoA your BG1 characters were already there...

Thanks, Shadowhound. Believe it or not, I am actually enjoying BG2 more than BG1 and I truly enjoyed BG1. I truly don't miss wandering endless expanses of wilderness, though BG1 *was* more realistic in gaming sense of trying to get from point A to point B and that meant traveling.

BG2 is one of the best games I've played but it still disappoints me that you don't have to walk between all those areas - I loved that in BG1.
I know how annoying it could be given the size of BG2. But I miss it ![]() |
