OH yes!! it took me a year to complete BG1 (with ToTSC) and took me a next year to complete BG2. (ilove these games!!)

I took my character from the Start to the end of Shadows of Amn.

I also got IWD2 to try out so what the hell!!i want to take my level 20 fighter and kick some frozen butt!! (for goodness!)

PS i'm kinda looking forward to the 3rd edition rules with Feats etc. should be cool.

Also there is a rumor going around that BG3 is coming can anyone confirm?

1) I don't think you can import your character in with the 3.0 rules. However you could use Dalekeeper (the IWD version of Shadow Keeper) To recreate your character with new feats that match the 3.0 rules.

2) The rumor about BG3 is around but I'm pretty sure its not being developed by Bioware.

it's not a rumor. it's for real. and it's not being developed by bioware. they are hard at work on "Dragon Age", which is their own RPG/IP.

BG3, what we know at this point, is that it's a prequel to the time of BG1/BG2/TOB and, as such, doesn't involve any of the characters from that part of the series. and that's it. more to come whenever Atari sees fit.

V***V

PS:

forscythe...

you really shoulda gotten Throne of Bhaal to finish off the series. it really adds dimension to the love story and in a loose way, ends the tale. plus you finally find out what the golden pantaloons are about!

Bg3 a prequel? Is that known for a fact (was it officially announced etc), or just a plausible rumour?

Unfortunately, you can't import BG2 characters into IWD2. (One of the area transition screen game hints is about how it would be possible to import BG2 characters into NWN, and I was told that NWN didn't support that option. So don't be like me and buy NWN thinking you could import BG2 characters. )

3rd edition skills and feats are wonders to behold and much, much easier to work into a computer game than 2nd edition. Don't worry about not being able to transfer characters. IWD2 is such a combat-oriented game, you'll be glad you're able to create characters better tailored for the challenges ahead.

The only hints I have seen about BG3 are in the latest PC Gamer Mag (the one dedicated to D&D) and all that says is that Atari has the rights and that Bioware isn't developing it.

There have been rumors of BG3 ever since BG2 was released...

This one is as fake as the others...
