A multi-class would take you longer to reach higher levels, without TOB I would dual class. You could start off as an assassin and dual to a cleric and play eeeevil. Hiding, backstabbing with clubs and staves, and buffing your party would be the roles you play with this character. If that suits you. Don't go off my input until more people give you suggestions, or do a search and find some other ideas. Have fun!

You backstab by going invisible and standing behind the enemy and making a successfull attack. Invisibility can be attained by drinking a potion or hiding in shadows.
You can choose yourself when you want to dual, I don't know what would be ideal, but it never hurts to try now doesn't it? |

You have to be human to dual, its the only race that can. To backstab hide in shadows or go invisible and then get behind the enemy and attack. I'm not sure what the best level to dual would be. Assassin's get the poison weapon ability every so many levels and someone else here might know when. So after you get possibly two or three of those and can distribute enough skill points into hiding in shadows and moving silently you could dual.
