Hey Guys, I have a question. I am in Chapter 4 right now and I really want to finish the game with this party. The only problem is, I have to format my harddisk. Which files do I need to backup in order to be able to continue the game when I re-install it?? Is it only the folder in the 'Saves' folder, or do I need to backup more files?
I remember only backing up the savefile in icewind Dale and when I re-installed I could not play. I don't want this to happen again, so can anybody please help me?

Just backup your save-folder, you should not encounter any problems with playing them later, as long as you will do the same installation as previous with same patches, mods if you use etc.

Hi Cavetroll
I was in the same boat during the weekend I backed up the save folder, plus the character files...I have spent many hours rolling for these stat and didn't want to lose them. What took the longest time then, was not the HD format and reinstalling the operating system, but ensuring that all the mods were then installed in the correct order for the save games to be valid |

You may want to back up your dialogue.txt file as well.

Sorry, for my late response, I had a very busy week...
You guys have to understand I want to be 100% sure that I can still play my previous savegame, so if I am correct, this is what you are saying: * Backup the folder in the 'save' folder in the BGII Main Directory * Backup the files in the 'characters' folder in the BGII Main Directory * Backup the dialog.tlk (not .txt) in the BGII Main Directory Install the exact same ammount of MB's again and the exact same mods, patches etc. and restore the backup files in their previous folder. Would that do the trick?? Thanks in advance!
