you have to get off the svirfenelblin leader
that you have to do for that one quest in the underdark

You google for it, or use Skeepers Item Browser.
The helmet you seek is MISCA6
Why do you need it?

because i think i ran into some kind of bug, i tried to do
the quest with sola when you have to get the helm but i could
never find him so i just went ahead and did some other stuff but i
could never end up finding him still and i cant do the quest now, i
cant see the the raiding party and i cant find sola or phaere anymore. i
had a save before the quest started but everytime i try to do no matter
what sola always dimension doors in and tells me i screwed up is there some
patch for this..

also can you get out of the underdark by just fighting your way out

where exactly is your last save?
Sola should be standing where the Spore colonies were before. You can talk him into letting him do the quest yourself and then talk the snirv into giving you the helmet.
You CAN fight your way out of the underdark (through the Western Tunnels which are BTW not marked on the map but ARE there) but you'll miss out on some interesting quests.
If you have a save at the very beginning of the quest, make sure you read all the dialogue and pay special attention to time limits. Then follow everything and it should be alright.
