* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I'm in the Temple Ruins. I have the gem that dispells the shadow doors. The door is still locked. I kick, I punch, I curse. It will not open. I've already opened one shadow door and there's no other place to go. So this is the gem that opens this particular door, hm? Is this a bug? I've looked around for a patch, but can't find one. Any thoughts? I would really like to finish this quest and move on... |

There are two Sun Gems, one for each door. The first Gem will not open the second Door. Look around for the second--you'll find it.

first you open the first shadow door with the gem from the altar or whatever it is, then you come across another door. This door can't, as far as i know, be opened, you can however go around it using a bridge further down the corridor. If you've already found this bridge you probably missed the opening to a second room in the lava-floor room. Ie there are two rooms adjecent(is that how you spell that?) to that lava room. one of them leads to the other side of the shadow door.
hope that helps /edit after you've done that there is a third shadow door but you can find a gem for that one... [ 02-17-2004, 01:44 PM: Message edited by: bjorn ]

Ah, I believe I see your problem...
The gem that was used to open the first shadow door did its job...opening the first door. I do believe that the second door cannot be opened by gemlight... Look carefully at the map, and perhaps ye may see another route....around the door, mm? -Ninj

Erm... you don`t get the Beljuril Gem anywhere in the Temple Ruins.
You get in certain animals. |

And other 'ruins' as well. Both ruins are run by the same type of creature, so a mixup is understandable.

Back to the original question. This has been bugging me too. Of course there's the bridge path that lets you bypass the door, and apparently the game designers wanted to force you through that area, but... has anyone actually found a third gem that lets you take down the shadow door after the bridge, so that you can walk back and forth from the entrance to the "creature" at the end without having to take the detour?
Oh, and about the Beljuril gems. Don't necessarily just sell them... They are pretty rare and you can use them to upgrade an item or two. You wouldn't want to have to pay a premium to get them back from that slimy Ribald or some other money grubbing merchant.

Nope... From what I understand, you can never open it, and it will always annoy the hell out of you.
