After playing the game and stopping with 3 different characters, I just finally beat Sarevok and beat BG1!!! Kind of a dissapointing ending though. Anyway, my question is, do you recommend starting BG2 anew, or continuing on with the same character? Does it change BG2 either way? I've grown quite attached to my character and would like to continue, but I'm worried about continuity between games. Is starting out at 8th level going to make the game too easy?

Spoiler ahead!!!

Also, are all those statues that you see in the end sequence of BG1 children of Bhall? I'm excited to start BG2, and I look forward to contributing to the forum.

Whats your class. I'd say continue on with your character, and Congratulations on beating the game. I really like the ending act. Yes, they are all the children of Bhaal, after all, his symbol pops up at the very end.

Well done, and my suggestion is taking along your initial character all the way, because in the end you'll have a much more powerful character.

I agree--give every Tome you find to your main character, then bring that sucker over. Don't worry about difficulty--the monsters in BG2 are expecting you to be 8th level (or whatever level you are). A few NPCs from BG1 are also to be found in BG2, but for some reason their stats have changed somewhat (at least that's what I hear).
On another matter, Jeromy, your post has a rather HUGE spoiler in it, about the end movie. You should probably go back and edit your post, to avoid ruining the game for those who are halfway through.

Do you mean beating Sarevok using the cheesy fighting style Jeromy? If so, I know what you mean.
BTW It's true about stats Six'.
Pot. Spoiler

Minsc has improved his Dex and Con (away from home at the moment so can't remember exactly). Jaheira has too, although I can't recall Imoen's...still with her, she's made the grade to mage so she doesn't care .
