It's a program that allows you to edit your characters, including but not limited to --> stats, skills, experience, proficiencies, and also alignment/race/gender of your character(s). It also lets you edit your party NPC's

It can do all of that, except changing the strength of your weapons. It can change the equipment you are carrying, but none of the game's actual files. Also, I am pretty sure that it lacks the ability to edit your lore, or override the save games you edited. But other than that, it is very nice. Try it.

Just for experimenting, create a level 40/39 Fighter/Mage with appropriate HP and such...let him level up to 40 Mage and he'll be..well..amazing to say the least.

Shadowkeeper

I will warn you, though. Play with fire and you will get burned. Edit with caution; the more you change your game, the bigger the risk of it being nerfed when you try to play it. I use it every time I start the game to get my guy up to post-BG1 stats (i.e. 161000xp and stats boosted by the tomes that I would have used on my guy) if I don't feel like playing the first game again. I have used it to jack up my hit points some if the game decides to really screw me on my hp roll. However, when you start doing stuff like adding ineligible kits to your guy, etc. you are really straying into dangerous territory.

My personal suggestion is to keep your previous save game as a backup in case you alter your game and it fries.

I agree. Shadowkeeper (and all cheats) should be used with both caution and moderation, or not at all. Some examples:

Cheats that don't affect the actual game (cosmetic changes): You can edit your characters to use different sprite-sets; for instance, you could give your Assassin the Shadow Thief avatar, and your Half-Orc Kensai the Orge-Mage avatar. Note that each of these avatars has their own walking speed, however, so applying them would affect the game--unless you also go to your "Movement Rate" and compensate, so that your character still walks around at normal speed.

Cheats that do affect the game, but only in very trivial ways that just about any human DM would allow: Say, for instance, that you don't want to be a Berserker->Thief, you'd rather be a Fighter->Bounty Hunter. Remember that you're being your own police, here; you'll have to restrain yourself from doing things that are obviously overpowered, such as a Multiclassed Kensai/Swashbuckler.

Cheats that fix bugs in the game: As far as I know, there isn't a single person who frowns on the use of cheating for this purpose. One situation would be that you got attacked by a Nishruu, and then noticed that Ilbratha was missing. Now, Nishruu and Hakeashar are only supposed to drain memorized spells, but if you don't have the BaldurDash Fixpack, they can also drain items with charges as well, potentially even destroying those items. Hacking yourself a replacement Ilbratha to replace the one that shouldn't have vanished in the first place is all good.

Thanx everyone.....and don't worry, I won't try to go overboard on cheating. I know how it exactly feels after you practiacally become a god in the game, it sucks since I end up ruining the challenge and fun of it. The main thing i'm gonna do with this program is maybe edit Areie's hp....and maybe more......
