Would this be hard? A monk from lvl. 1 all the way to stardom! how about doing it solo? anybody done that? I like monks but how good are they really?

I havent tried it with a monk but id imagine it would be quite hard at the start until you got a bit powerful. As for soloing it, well theres a challenge!

I started one, but never got out of Candlekeep (my evil Assassin was more interesting
 )Maybe I pick up on that.

we done it. tis pretty hard in the beginning but
when u get to around level 13 u should breeze through cos by then u hav: 3 attacks/round fists do 1-12+2 damage natural AC of 3 -4 AC vs missiles +4 move and... at lvl 13.....QUIVERING PALM YAY! ^_^ till then use lots of potions to protect u and heal u and save often gud luck

i have always wondered if when you get those cool gloves that make your fists better, does your fists count like a +6 weapon as they would be?

Nope, enchantment level has nothing to do with damage or THACO bonus. The numbers are normaly the same, but there are many instances where they are not. The gloves do no raise your monk fists enchantment level, they just grant additional damage and a thaco bonus.

It gets better though with rising level immunities come and your AC sinks. One thing I don't quite get is the disease immunity at lvl 5. It doesn't seem to work as I got diseased by a Ghast several times (lvl6). Maybe it was just the Icon, I couldn't tell but it still puzzles me.
