And yet a silly (or perhaps not so silly party idea).
I have been fooling around quite a lot with fake multiplayer custom parties so I am itching on playing a regular one. I still want it to have a "theme" though. Inspired by my "ninja" party I've got the idea of making a party based on the powers of invisibility. The entire party should not long into the game have gained the ability to turn itself invisible. "Easy", you might say. Simply use Invisibility 12' Radius or Mass Invisibility, but I disagree. While spell slots and potions might suffice for most peoples' needs I want to be able to go invisible every goddamn time i like! My own suggestions so far is: Kelsey: Obviously I have Staff of the Magi in mind. Before he will have to make use of Invisibility and Invisibility 12' Radius. Valygar: A tank with a native stealth ability, and even a bit of backstabbing. An obvious choice. Imoen: It just feels better not to abandon your beleagured sister in the middle of hostile dungeons. I think i'll redistribute her skill points a bit with Shadowkeeper though. Jan: His initial stealth values sux0rs, but that can be remedied over time. PC: Ranger/Cleric. With enough "mage-ish" characters already what we need is a good ol' tank! I chose the Ranger/Cleric so I can get clerical powers that way around. Is not going to go anywhere near a plate mail though. Minsc: The final character will probably then have to be Minsc. He is a ranger and can go just as invisible as anyone else, as long as he keeps to the light armors. My objections with this initial setup: Lack of backstabbing prowess. For a party based on invisibility this setup is remarkably light on the backstab. Sure Imoen and Jan can backstab, but both are much better off using their arcane powers. Valygar's backstab, while a bit useful, is not really a defining factor. It is also a bit "ranger-heavy" with three (or 2˝) of the kind. Also I would like my main character to be an assassin. The quintessential stealh character if there ever was one. Still that would mean that i'd have to do without a cleric of any worth. Ah, perhaps I should just play some of my dozen of theme parties through and wait until Edna Spenk is released.

Make Jaheira a R/C (SK) and you can be an Assassin !
Imoen could be Swashbuckler. Or you can keep Imoen as she is and make Mazzy a F/T and dump Jan. And how about Haer'Dalis instead of Minsc ? He can use Mislead and kick butt. ![]() [ 09-16-2003, 05:39 AM: Message edited by: Leslie ]

Haer'dalis can't turn himself ivisible natively. He has to use spells, and spells run out.
About Jaheira, you might have a point. Still, I am a little reserved to such gross alterations of game characters. About Mazzy, No way! Mazzy Fentan is a valiant knight, not some sneaky little scoundrel. Sheesh, talk about stereotyping!
