im stuck on chap2!..spoilerish(?)

[new to BG II]

hey everyone,

pl help me.


im in chap 2 in the copper coronet and my group is in the "pit area..." and im having a hard time getting to the beastmaster area....I've tried all sorts of methods but my players cant seem to get past the fence.can anyone help me??

Anyway, to answer your question, you have to find another way around. Unlike real life, you can't just hop the fence. I would open all of the various doors around the area. I take it from your question that you've been told to find the beastmaster. Try opening all of the doors in that hallway where you were given the quest. I'm trying not to spoil too much, as it is much more rewarding to play through on your own (and ask for hints, not spoilers, when you get stuck). If you tried opening all of the doors throughout the area and are still stuck, please let us know.

Go around the fence. Head back out (past Frankie) to the "hallway" area and see what's behind various doors.

i know that i have to go to the beastmasters pit first and talk to the old man who will send me on a quest.so i cant really continue till i find a way into the beastmasters room.

i walked into the hallway past frankie and entered another door (not the one going out into the main hall..) and found the secret doors etc(each leading a separate way but not to the beastmasters room),but when i go into the main door ( at the end of the hallway), the guards attack me and hendak and his fellow gladiator also are shown to me as enemies.
(i thought Hendak was supposed to send me on a quest to free the slaves!)

so i still dunno how to get into the beast masters area....

There are 2 doors leading out of the "Gladiator Cells" room (where Hendak is). You came through one of them when you walked up that long hallway with 2 secret doors--look for another door out of there.

WHOA WHOA - Hendak's a RED circle?! Is it possible you accidentally used some sort of area spell that damaged him while you were attacking the guards? If that's the case, and Hendak's an enemy now, I don't know if the quest will proceed like it's supposed to... and if THAT's the case, you'll need a save before that fight...

If that's impossible, you might have to resort to some console cheats or worse to restore Hendak's attitude

OR of course role play it the way it is and blow off the quest

But if Hendak's already free,.. the beastmaster wont be there anymore.
If you havent encountered him yet, I'm guessing you asked Lethinan to give you a key ?
There's no way to free Hendak and not have seen the beastmaster besides asking Lethinan for the key. And once you've gone that route, the beastmaster will have vanished.
