Do you think that is fair for a solo Blade to use 7th and 8th level spells made available with XP CAP REMOVER?

Cheers

Ofcourse it is. If cap remover allows it, it's ok.

It's not the Cap Remover that allows it, it's Weimer's Ease-of-Use MOD. The README says that it "un-nerfs" the Spell Progressions, which I took to mean that pure Mages would finally be able to cast 5 Level 9 spells per day, while still under the ToB EXP cap. But, instead of granting more logical Spell Tables, it just makes more on those Spell Tables:

Bards are supposed to be limited to Spell Levels 1-6. With EoU, Haer'Dalis can memorize & cast Abi-Dalzim's.

Wizards are no longer limited to 5 spellslots of each level--with EoU, Nalia has about as many spellslots as Edwin.

I think 7/8 lvl spells are hardly necessary, they'd make it WAY too easy - I did a solo blade for my first ever solo and she had no problem after she got up to lvl 20 or so... maxed out at 40(?) right about the Underdark... And I don't use ToB, so not even any High-Level-Abilities, all you really need is Tensor's Transformation for your high level spells. In fact in the future I'm thinking of removing the cap and seeing how well a solo PC can manage with that (which is big talk for a soloing newbie, so I better shut up - but Elmonster (in his Journal from Baldurdash) did it as a mage, so...)

Confirmed! The blade doesn't need those high level spells. I soloed without any cheats, mods, cheesy tactics, etc.

But its up to you - if you have more fun using them, by all means go for it!

I agree with SixOfSpades... There's nothing logical about a Bard casting 7th and 8th level spells. The official rulebooks don't allow it as far as I know and both SoA and ToB don't allow it either. In my opinion, a blade is strong enough as it is (like Mahlennacht, I've soloed one once as well - though I never finished my attempt. Not because it had gotten too difficult, but because it was annoyingly dull.

I find all solo games utterly boring, wheter or not you have tactics and play on insane. for a while it can be very challenging, but after you hit high enough levels, theres really no point to it. I started a solo game three times, but never got past level 17, at which point it has already been very boring.
