i've been planning a new multiplayer party to start from scratch. As for the ranger's RacialEnemy, which one do the fanatics think need the extra bonus?
My Character will probably dual as a cleric any suggestions?

Demonic/fell is good.

I don't really remember if they're an option, but you could as well choose Illithid... Hack those brainiacs to bits 'n pieces!

You can choose high-level enemies (lich, demon, etc.), but by the time your ranger faces off against these critters, your party will have enough levels and good gear to not make it that much of a difference. Pick your racial enemy from ones that might give you problems early on.

My suggestion is vampire. It seems like all the vampire battles in this game happen in very awkward situations. A ranger with Lilarcor or Daystar/Shield of Harmony and negative plane protection and a vampire racial enemy does wonders with early vampire fights. Think Minsc.

Racial Enemy: Gibberling
Racial Enemy: Imp
Racial Enemy: Faerie

HOOOOO BOY!

Too bad they don't allow you to choose a Class instead of a Race. I can certainly see Valygar with Racial Enemy: Mage. (Although if we're being logical here, Why'd BioWare give him RE: Golem instead of RE: Lich?)

In the long run, Demon is without doubt the best one as there are quite a lot of them in BG2 and Throne of Bhaal. They appear in all boss fights.

Vampires are useful but realistically it ALL doesn't matter.

You either can beat them or you can't so which one ever fits the role play, take that one.

My archer had Dragons as racial enemies. It helped me greatly to take down the shadow (don't make me write its name) and the Red Dragon very early, which allowed me to have good armor very soon
