I have Minsc, Yosh, Jaheria, Nalia, myself (NG swashbuckler), and Jan. Do I need anyone else? I thought to get Viconia, but hate losing two rep pts.

Thanks,

Lee

You have 2 Jans? How?!

On a more constructive note... I would get another tank. Since you have no priest, get either Anomen or Jaheira. As much as i hate to say it, Jaheira is actually a slightly better choice here (unless you play with the GrandMastery patch).

Well, let's see. You have Minsc for a tank, and yourself as a second fighter. Yoshimo, Nalia, Jan and Jan are your thieves, and Jan and Jan also double (quadruple?) as mages, as does Nalia. On the whole, I'd say you have more thieves than you'll need (Jan alone should be enough), and you could use another tank (fighter), as well as some cleric or druid back-up. Try taking Mazzy, Valygar or Keldorn as a sixth member, and someone like Aerie instead of Nalia for better part balance. Of course, how well a party works depends on your tactics. As it is now, everyone but yourself can hide and stab people in the back, or at least have their hamster bite the foe really hard. You also have access to a good number of lower-level mage spells, which is a definite plus.
A truely 'balanced' party would have a healer and another good fighter, at least. But I see no reason this combination shouldn't work

EDIT: I seem to always forget about Anomen. I wonder why that is... Oh wait, I remember

You seem to be doing a thief overkill. I would kick both Jan and Yoshi and pick up either Valygar or Anomen. Or both depending on what your plans for Imoen are. Both Valygar make decent tanks.

Keep Nalia and forget Aerie, Aerie is just to week physically to hold up unless sshe is in an all tank party.

Yea, replace yosh with Keldorn as a decent tank and replace one of the Jans with Jaheira. The reason I say this is because she is a pretty good tank, plus her Insect Swarm spell is awesome.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THIEF OVERKILL!!

Ahem, I feel better.

There is nothing better then having a whole party that go invisible, silently circling around something you don't like, AND BACKSTABBING THE CRAP RIGHT OUT OF IT!

I love the fact I can send Jan, Valygar, and Yoshi creeping up on somebody... One of them is bound to connect... And somebody is going to get a shanked kidney. Add to the fact that in stock SoA Valygar can backstab with things like spears or halbreds, and, a whole new world is out there to explore. Nothing makes bad guys say "OUCH! I WANT MY MOMMY! UUUUUUUUuuuurrrrrgle!" Like Valygar sticking the Imapler in their back.

There can never ever be to much back stabbing.

What if they're immune to backstab butters?

Actually, Butterfingers, while I agree that Backstabbing is a fun tactic, it doesn't apply to the party in question. He's got....
Yoshimo: 17 STR, Rogue THAC0, x5 Backstab = Good.
Jan: 9 STR, slower Rogue THAC0, slower x5 Backstab = Mediocre.
Nalia: 14 STR, Wizard THAC0, x2 Backstab = Piss-poor.
Swashbuckler: 18 STR, best Rogue THAC0, x1 Backstab = Nonexistent.
Minsc: 193) STR, Warrior THAC0, x1 Backstab = Nonexistent.

Anyway, about party choices. Minsc + Swashbuckler is actually enough Tanking material if you know what you're doing. (I'm running a party now with just 1 Tank, my Fighter/Illusionist.) Of course, more Warriors is always an option. He's got enough Wizard spells, but only a scintilla of Druid spells, and no Cleric ability at all. Trust me on this: If you're wondering if any set of NPCs is or is not a "good" party, you need to have a Cleric in there. You obviously have far too many Thieves, unless you're making some kind of theme party, like "Everybody must be able to Stealth."

Well, Imoen starts with the Strength spell for a reason. It's a hint.

Jan and Nalia both get pretty decent THAC0 after the Strength spell.
