So I was wondering around the forest in the Umar Hills and I bumped into a grizzly bear. I was feeling mello and in a tolerant mood (drinking games with Minc the night before - don't ask) so I was going to get Jaheira to charm the thing and sent it on its way before it got hostile. Then it happened… a groundhog came out of the bushes just minding its business and the bear killed it! It ran after it a bit and then gave it a single smack…. The resulting explosion of groundhog goo didn’t look too appetizing.

Interesting, I thought to myself… my party was right next to the bear yet it did not go hostile on me. The bear then casually walked by everyone and continued on its way, as did I.

About a minute later, I read on the status screen, “squirrel: death” ….. that was one bloodthirsty bear. Perhaps he skipped a lithium treatment?

Maybe the bear was in foul humour after a night of drinking games with Madulf?

I once saw a tiger killing something as well, in the Umar Hills.. You know what's even more fun to watch? You remember the Lich in the City Gates district, the one guarding the Day Star? He followed me once outside, so the guards started to attack the Lich, while I was standing and watching the scene.. It was soo funny The lich wasted all of his good spells on them, and I could easily chop him up when they were roasted.

Somehow it IS unfair though, cos a Lich shouldn't be able to walk in the plain sunlight so easily.. Should be hit by a sunray every two rounds or something like that.

it wasn't actually a bear. it was Bill Murrey and he's in one of his time-is-standing-still-so-I-dont-want-to-shave moods, and it's the damn groundhog's fault. Can you blame him ?

check this page (monstrous manuel) for specific detail about a lich:

it doesn't seem to say something about liches getting penalty's when in bright sunligh though

It's normal. In my observations, any predator will prefer groundhogs, squirrels, and so on to your people. Perhaps your people are less edible Nevertheless, if there isn't anything better than Minsc or Jaheira on the table, then, well, it can't be helped...
