When naming your PC, do you folks use first and last names?

Sometimes for Halflings and Elves.
But I shall sooner name somebody as "NAME the ADJECTIVE", i.e. Shiandra the Sage or Gronk the cruel.

Usually no but it depends. For example, my priest is sometimes "Henry Marapper" - and he behaves accordingly... [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]

For humans, yes. For elves and half elves sometimes. Dwarves get a title by default (usually something like pebble eater or smellybeard), and other races only get a last name if I can think of a good one.

I usually go for last names, especially with Drawves, Halflings, and Gnomes. I always give my Dual-classed Humans two names, to hint at their classes. For instance, my Assassin->Fighter was Sly MacDuff, while my Fighter (specialized in Bows) ->Mage was Fletcher Arcane.

Having a last name just makes it sound cooler (like "Oban Cragmore"), but the downside is that the game can't make your friends call you by your last name. So, you you read a Bounty Notice offering a reward for the head of "Wilbert the Offensive," and your girlfriend Aerie will sweet-talk you with the name "Wilbert the Offensive."

I am a little dense today I thought someone had posted a thread on nameing there PC (computer) but you meant BG character. HAR!HAR!HAR! OK, I usually use two names the second giving a flavour, or personality to the character.

I don't give my PC a second name when creating him, but I do put it in the biography. To have everyone address me with my second name - even close friends, lovers, and other party members - really got up my nose as early as BG1.
