Okay, first time thru he annoyed me, so I got him turned CN and then dumped at home w/ his dad to become a drunk.

But, this time I convinced him not to commit a foul deed (though exactly *how* foul it is is questionable in my mind). We went to talk to the bureauons (bureauocrat + moron = bureauon) at the Council of 6, to no avail. Does it end here? Do I ever get to go invade and loot that nice home on the bridge?

Help?

You do only if you're having a romance with him. BTW, the loot isn't that great IIRC.

Does that mean he doesn't get his call to the order if I'm not romancing him???? I'm a male and I don't have the all-romance mod installed, so if he can't go any further w/ me, I can drop him and add someone else.

He'll get his call to the Order; in fact what you did was necessary for him to become a knight. At that point the scenario ends.

The scenario does not end, and this is the second game in a row where I seem to have been cheated out of a high-level Anomen (in this game, he was just about to get his first HLA), with apparently no hope of EVER getting him back.

BIG SPOILERS BELOW

A couple of weeks after passing his Test, Anomen gets another message from Terl. The news: Anomen's father is dead, killed as he tried to attack Saerk's home. The reason for this attack was that new evidence had been uncovered, proving that Saerk actually was responible for Moira's death. Anomen naturally goes ballistic, leaves the party, and heads straight for the Bridge District. I followed him quickly, and had to help him kill Saerk ("Hey stupid! You've got the Flail of Ages in your other Quick Weapon, why the hell are you using your sling???").....and then Anomen said that he "needed to go find himself in deep seclusion somewhere," dumped all his gear on me, and vanished. Now I can't find the bastard. I've tried his home, the Order, the Council of 6 building, the prison, both Temples of Helm, both Temples of Ilmater.....maybe he'll come back after a few days, I don't know. There was no helpful hint posted to the Journal. I'll have to check an online Quest Guide to see if I ever DO get him back.

...and you did this without being in a romance with him? Hmmmm, it doesn't work with me.

Six, AFAIK Anomen is lost to you. You have to convince him to spare Saerk's life in order to keep him. If you want, I can give you the exact conversation choices that you have to make.

No, I was Romancing him, but that shouldn't matter, as this was part of his non-Romance quest anyway. You'll notice that the "Anomen Theme" is not playing in the background in any of the Saerk-related dialogues.

Now what the hell kind of sense does THAT make? If Anomen was a real person, I can't think of anything that would piss him off MORE than saying, "Gee, Ano, that's twice in one month that you've lost a family member, and this time we've even got the evidence that proves Saerk was guilty of causing both deaths--but I still won't let you exact vengeance for your family."

Good thing I've got my old Save....I'll have to play through the options and see what happens. If you're right, Desuma, I think this quest is going to need a few alterations. (Letting Anomen kill Saerk, and finding him later in a Temple of Helm or Ilmater would definitely not be out of line.)

I think it kinda makes sense. If you're going after Saerk, he's LG and a Knight of the Order. They don't really have the "real person" thing going on There's now evidence (that was missing before), a LG guy should let the authorities do their thing, rather than just going and lynching the bugger.

What *really* gets me is the CN version
*ROMANCE SPOILER*

In romance, whatever you did with the pre-test quest is wrong, so he'll get a letter from daddy dearest saying "Eh, sorry, it wasn't Saerk, cheers for offing him. By the way, I'm disowning you. Bye." He will then run off to whack Cor, and it's a clone of the Saerk situation that you've seen. You have to talk him down or you lose him for good. GODDAMNIT I WANT TO KILL COR >_<

As an aside for the Anomen haters, you can actually get him to commit suicide at this point in the CN romance by dragging your feet for about five days after he storms off. Sleep for a week then check in at the Delryn estate - a handy servant will fill you in on events.
