Well i'm in the middle of a game right now but am not liking my main character.. (cleric) ..and have put quite a bit of time into it but am a little hesitant to restart..

But if i do i was thinking of doing a party of six elven ladies all created by me.. This of course prohibits some of the npc interaction and storylines like the romance stuff.

I have never soloed a game but by definition it to would leave out alot of that npc interaction right?

So my question is this? Will it be fun with a six player created party or even soloing? or doing it normal style playing and taking the npcs into my party? Will i be missing out on to much xp doing this? (i know its up to me to define what is fun and what is not but still come on now lets hears some opinions..). I have to admit i grow very weary of listening to minsc and korgan...

Soloing will give you the most XP., for your character. An all PC party could give you the greatest variety of abilities, and is certainly infinitely costemizable. Between the two, I'd say go solo, ideally with a Multi-class fighter combo. For hit points, andfighting ability. Backed up with another class or two, this can work wonders.

I tried soloing, and it wasn't for me. I like the NPC's in the game too much. That is why I have a problem about creating the NPC's myself. I personally love the interaction of the NPC's.
But as you said, it is up to you to decide what is fun.

You don't actually have to choose between creating your own party & having NPC interaction...

1st - decide what you'd like your party to be
2nd - recruit the NPC's you'd like to interact with
3rd - use ShadowKeeper to change the NPC's classes (& races if you want, though that could lead to some odd dialogue)

Now you have the party you want without messing up the NPC interaction that makes the game so interesting.

Thats a good idea and one that me go rofl a little bit Imrahil! But it would take to much time to do all that editing in Shadowkeeper.. and of course sometimes playing around in there you tend to give yourself some of those better items and stats eh.. tempt me not!

EDIT> BUt you know what.. you give me idea for my current game as go nowhere lame azz cleric.. shadowkeeper here i come!!!

If you want a challenge, solo a sorcerer. If you want it to be more interesting though, pick up one more NPC with the romance option. I did that 2 times and it was challenging, but a lot of fun

Actually, I thought about that, and it would probably be a really good idea. Get a solid fighter along with Jaheira and it's all good. The only bad thing about her is her sucky weapon options. Other than that, it'd rock.

Solo-ing? Eh, not for me. I need dialogue in the game, or it'll just be like Pool of Radiance, all fighting and no interacting (bah). Plus, you know with an entire group you get a lot more combat options too, so I guess you can't go wrong either way.

Well, that's my 2 cents

If i edit my character in Shadowkeeper.. change him from male to female.. will my love affair with Aerie continue? Or should i change everything but gender? what affects the romance?

I think the best two partner love would be Aerie and a fighter/thief.
