It doesn't have a name. But there's only one in the Gate District, so you shouldn't have any problems locating it.

Oh, and it's not under the tavern, but behind a secret door in te corner.

I always grab it first thing after getting out of Irenicus' dungeon. Protection from dead scroll makes it nice and simple for good XP and an awesome sword.

And yes, it is the Crooked Crane

Ah, alright, my bad. Though it wasn't listed on the Gate District map I believe? Though I'm probably showing now that I haven't played this game in more than 1.5 years.

The Daystar is, IMHO, one of the best long swords of the game, but it's bugged. It should hit as a +4 vs. Evil Creatures, but it doesn't (it doesn't touch Mr. Kangaxx, f.i. - and I don't think Mr. K is Lawfull Good).

Beige Tangerine has a tweak for it, making it hit as a +4 in all cases. Overpowered, but I luv it.

There is no bug. People tend to misinterpret what the text says( unfortunately). It is a +4 THACO bonus, not a +4 enchantment.

PlaneScape:Torment has it neatly separated.
For instance:

PORPHATYS BLADE
(Cursed)
Damage: 1-6 Piercing
Enchanted: +3
Special:
1-6 Acid Damage
Beserk
THAC0: +3
Speed: 0
Weight: 1
Proficiency: Edged
Not usable by Priests

The acids of Porphyatys, the fifth layer of Carceri, are dangerous to more than a body's physical form - they tear at his mind and soul, eating away at his reason. Weapons forged in this heart of betrayal do the same thing to their owners, but too many believe that the acidic powers of a weapon created in Porphatys are worth the risk.

Okaaay, so I thought about going to get this sword in a new game I'm playing. But, I only have +1 weapons for the most part. Don't you need a higher enchantment to kill this Lich???
