I am planning on soloing the above on insane, ToB included. However, I can't decide on dual or multi. Sure, multi can be more effective at times, but low levels arent my thing. I'd use the XP cap remover, but it is a tad unethical. Any suggestions?

I would usually say Dual for any class... Except mage/thief

Go MULTI CLASS. you will still reach lvl 24/24 (approximately) so you'll get timestop, firebreath and the all Powerful 'use any item ability'.

So in short go multi!

Go multi. Remember that the moment you dual, you're back with a low-level totally different character. Not too fun while on Insane difficulty.

Oh, and if you're going solo, there's no need to worry about the levels. With all the many early quest, you'll reach the XP-cap early anyway.

Ah, but you don't understand. I don't want to max out quickly. It partially takes the fun out of the game, as I don't level anymore. That is why I was considering the XP cap removal.

Another thing...T/M's only get one * per proficiency? I am roleplaying, so I could use SK to give more-Who says that my character spent his whole life learning the thieving arts, and arcana? He could have spent some time as a pit fighter before becoming what he is...

Ah yes, fond memories of Candlekeep.

The books.

The scrolls.

The evenings with Winthrop telling stories along with Firebeard around the fire.

The pit fights between the Harpers and the Zhents, with Gorion acting as a bookie, and Reevor as the vengeful legbreaker for those that could not pay up. Ulrant cracking walnuts with his bare hands and talking as if he had a mouth full of cotton and marbles, overseeing everything with puffy sleepy looking eyes.

Oh yes, fond memories!

LOL!
You did try tweaking the XP gap between each level? Or did I instruct another person how to do so? I do it all the time when soloing, it's a very simple tweak, requiring nothing but Notepad and some common sense.

No, it was me you told. I just haven't gotten around to doing it. And Butterfingers...How could you remember those fights? Don't tell me that Jahiera seduced you too? And Khalid, he was the one who chained you up and forced you to...Small world.

I would not consider it cheesy to remove the EXP cap, especially for a Solo game.

Damn you, Six. Now I have even more decisions to make

Ratty's method or XP cap....argh. I hate decisions. I still can't find my "perfect char".

You could combine them Removing the XP cap alone will definitely not be enough if you want to keep leveling up throughout ToB.
