I am at a total loss as how to inflict PERMANENT damage agaist jon the invinsible... I cant believe I am having so much difficulty with this. Are remove magic and pierce magic non-effetive spells against slayer? Imoen has one ruby ray of reversal memorized and Nalia and Imoen have several breaches memorized. What about the warding whip? What about lower resistence? No matter what I try and how many times I try I can not keep the damage I inflict to Jon Irenicus to remain and accumulate and he always goes back to 'barely injured' or 'uninjured'. Thanks in advance

I beat Irenicus very easily with two simple spells... one was time stop, the other one was shapechange, I will leave the rest for you to figure out.

The only disabling spell i could get to work on Irenicurse was Spellstrike. In SoA none of your characters can memorize it but there are 2 scrolls (from memory) for sale in Ribald's 'under the counter' stock.

His ability to resist your spells may be due to a combination of spell defences that must be removed in a certain order. Spell trap will absorb any disabling spell except for Spellstrike. Spellstrike is countered by Spell Shield and so on so forth. I'm having trouble at the moment with improved lichs that make use of these tactics (and multiple, impossible contingencies )

If you want in depth info on spells and spell tactics, the BG2 spell reference is a good place to look. If you ask Alson nicely, he might post a link for you.
