Does anybody feel that the Anti-paladin is overpowered? For one thing dispel magic on hit is a huge advantage over any other class or kit in the game. With this little ability you can take down practically any magic-user with very little effort.
For example take Kurosian, When he warps in there to take your katana he is usually very difficult to melee. However if you simply use some summons to take his mind off you, to counter his protection from magical weapons use a normal weapon, dispel his defenses, use FoA or CF or other powerful weapon and he is very easy. This just seems too easy for a non-mage solo level 15 character. Another thing I do not beleive that you should be able to dual class an Anti-Paladin, that just seems like overkill. Questions? Comments? Concerns? Or basically anybody with an opinion I would like to hear from you ![]() |

Yes, the Anti Paladin kit is certainly overpowered. The Dispel Magic on hit is too powerful for SoA. To add insult to injury, i actually dualled my Anti Paladin to a Mage... And at level 13!
![]() I also noted that keeping an unenchanted Katana took the "Improved" out of the "Improved Mages", so i decided not to use it. In the Tactics Mod, every creature and his sister can cast Pro-Magic-Weapons, which nullifies my Dispel Magic on hit. I can risk by casting my innate Dispel Magic, but that would wipe my buffs, too, etc... However, since evil is really discriminated against in BG2, things balanced out eventually. Personally, i feel that the Anti Paladin is an incentive for people who wants to play evil in BG2, and not just out of roleplaying reasons. Don't you agree? |

It's certainly an incentive if you're struggling with the game, but the problem is that the whole game discriminates aginst evil so badly, that having one overpowered character won't balance it out, IMHO.
I really wish that the evil aspects of the story had been better implemented, even though I realise why they weren't
