Everytime I try to enter Cloakwoods mines the game crashes, this also happens when I enter the friendly arm inn and randomly in a ton of other spots. I know your gonna say ask interplays support....well they suck, and I've read the FAQ on Interplay and it has a fix for a problem that is exact so I tried it and it still crashes...I'm at my wits end this is torture. Help

I had similar problems until I inserted the patch. It still had its days when the whole place would go to crap, but it helped, maybe 70-80% of those crashes.
Alot depends on the system you use, as well as how many of those extras you allow to run.
Alot of people found the game ran smoother when they shut things off like transparent shadows, weather effects, and hearing footsteps. Give it a try, let us know what you PC specs. are, and we can go from there. Oh, and get that patch.

Thanks for the reply, ok I have applied the patch and this did make the gui more stable but I have not tried to take out shadows and footsteps I'll try that. Also someone please tell me that BG2 is more stable.

I have also found that if you have McAfee running on your system, it can sometimes cause a problem. Before you play, CTRL+ALT+DEL one time. Click on McAfee and then click end task. Just be sure to crank it back up before you get back on the internet and download any files. Hope this helps.

That is a good idea! Thanks for your input.
Yes...BG II is more stable. I never have had any problems.
