Elementals going crazy!

I'm in the underdark, and those elementals keep coming out of the portals (what's the deal with that? I keep killing them for xp, but it seems pointless). But they keep coming out, running to the nearest other elemental, and fighting them. It's really weird. they're just going at it and going at it. I'm trying to advoid them, cause I don't want to fight battle after battle to get past them, but anyway, what's the deal? is there something signifigant about them?

The gnomes just near where you first arrive tell you of a battle where a mage was imprisoned. Buy a freedom scroll off then and use it to free the mage. He will ask you to help him while he searches for treasure in another plane using those portals. After finishing the quest the elementals will no longer keep appearing, so get as much xp as you like before stating the quest.

What mage? I freed something from a half orb type thing, but it attacked me and I killed it. ALso, there is an unmarked exit on the left side that leads to a cave, with lots of mini quest type items (tadpoles that contaminate the good genes of the Kar-something, a drow door that needs unlocked, and an altar that I can't find an animal for sacrafice, and a room with a beholder and two gauths, which I killed but got nothin).

Where you first came into the Underdark, there are some gnomes. Talk to them, buy a scroll of Freedom, cast it. Once you do that, it will all begin to make some sense [img]smile.gif[/img]

I would advise you to kill all the elementals before freeing the mage.

As for the 'cave'; To get an animal for sacrifice use a summon spell. This will cause Demon Knights to appear. The drow door is unlocked by Adalon, after you help her.

Thanks, it all makes sense now. Except for the Kar-tur blood I have, that I don't know what to do with it. Also, where is the lost kid? (One of the gnomes is looking for his lost kid)

He is in the half orb thing you mentioned with the several facets that you turn (there are more than one look closely) where you fought someone it released.

The kua-toa blood is use in one of the ust-natha quests.

what animal sacrifice cave are you talking about?? i only know of the orb one ust natha, the room where u kill the balor, and the gnome city
