I just started the game as a solo sorcerer. And I haven't used so much magic before (well, I mean like really effectly). Perhaps it is just my way of playing, but the beging is awfully hard. I almost got killed in the circus tent by those werewolfs and shadows (skipped Jon's Dungeon). So, I would appreciate any hint. Etc. which spells to choose, some tactics... anything.

Dont feel bad about getting kicked around in the circus. Solo sorcerers need a lot of getting used to, especially the usage of magic (study the BGII Spell Reference), wich spells to use when and how and such. Recommended is to try and find out *yourself* what spells work for you, but if things get too tough or frustrating, follow Dundee's paved and marked road [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

I started a Solo Sorcerer myself today to see what it's like...in fact I started after reading your post. It's very fun...as for the Circus Tent, I used Sunfire and Three Chromatic Orbs (I petrify by then). When you're playing Solo you level up faster then a REALLY hot knife through butter...
A tip: Spider Spawns are VERY deadly when combined with Haste and Web. Four of them, a Stoneskin, two hastes, some magic missiles and flame arrows, and a Mirrow Image wiped out the Slavers in the place from the sewers...JUST BEFORE IT CRASHED!!!
